The OC and Selective exams are among the most competitive assessments in Australia. For years, quality preparation was only accessible to families who could afford expensive private tutors — or who had the inside knowledge to know where to look.
We built OC & Selective Online to change that. Every feature we build — every question we write, every explanation we craft — is designed to give every child the same quality of preparation, regardless of postcode or budget.
Our platform is built by teachers who have sat inside exam rooms, marked student papers, and know exactly what examiners are looking for.
Why we built this
It started in a classroom. One of our founding teachers was preparing her own child for the OC Placement Test and was frustrated: the available resources were either wildly out of date, didn't reflect the real exam format, or cost hundreds of dollars per hour in private tutoring.
She started writing her own practice tests — drawing on years of experience in NSW public schools and deep familiarity with the exam structure. Other parents heard about them through the school grapevine and asked for copies.
A year later, she partnered with two other experienced teachers and a developer, and OC & Selective Online was born. The founding principle was simple: build the practice resources we wished had existed for our own kids.
Today we serve 600+ students across NSW and beyond. Every question on the platform has been written, reviewed, and refined by qualified Australian teachers. We are proud to be 100% Australian owned and operated.
